ClickFunnels starts at $97 a month and systeme.io tops out at $97 a month, both read on the vendors' own pages 15 August 2026. At 10,000 contacts systeme.io costs $47 and ClickFunnels costs $97. ClickFunnels wins on team seats, published ceilings and ecosystem. Below serious volume, the gap is hard to justify.

Trying to decide between the two without paying $97 to find out?

Here is the fact that makes the comparison worth writing anyway.

ClickFunnels starts at $97 a month.

systeme.io ends at $97 a month.

Same number.

Now do it annually. ClickFunnels’ own support doc prints Launch at $970 a year. systeme.io’s affiliate page prints Unlimited at $970 a year.

Same number again.

One of those is a floor.

The other is a ceiling.

The comparison, in two figures. Everything below is me showing my work.

Side By Side On Price

systeme.io runs $0, $17, $47 and $97 a month on its own pricing page. ClickFunnels runs $97, $197, $297 and an annual-only tier at $5,997 on theirs. Both sets read from the vendors’ own pages on 15 August 2026, and both held on a re-read 22 August 2026. Annual billing at systeme.io is two months free. Annual billing at ClickFunnels is a discount they express as a monthly equivalent rather than a total.

systeme.io’s pricing grid does not exist in the page they serve you. Fetch systeme.io/pricing and the comparison matrix comes back as untranslated placeholder keys - components.price_element.plans.contacts, then four rows of bare null:. The actual prices are readable only in the static FAQ block further down the page, which carries its own stamp of April 2026.

A finding, not an inconvenience. If a crawler cannot read your prices, neither can the assistant your customer is asking.

Two things about ClickFunnels’ pricing page.

It opens on the annual toggle. The first number a visitor sees on Launch is $81. The monthly price is $97.

The annual totals are not printed. You get a monthly equivalent and a saving: $81/mo, Billed annually (Save $194/year). Work it back from the $97 list price and the charge is $970. But $81 times twelve is $972, so multiplying the displayed figure gives you a number ClickFunnels does not charge. Their support doc, updated 18 March 2026, prints $970 outright. Confirm the total at checkout before you commit.

That same doc also prints Dominate as $5970 in one place and $5,997 in another. The pricing page says $5,997.

What Does The Same Money Buy At 10,000 Contacts?

Take one number and hold both platforms to it. Ten thousand contacts, because both sell exactly that, and it is the only rung where the two ladders touch.

So at the same contact count you are looking at $47 against $97 a month, or $470 against $970 a year.

Roughly DOUBLE.

And the more expensive one gives you fewer courses, a metered email allowance and no workflow automation.

One caveat on the zeros in that fee row.

0% is the platform’s cut. Stripe or PayPal still takes its own processing fee on every sale, whichever builder you run.

What Does The $97 ClickFunnels Plan Leave Out?

More than the pricing card suggests.

On ClickFunnels’ own feature comparison table, read 15 August 2026, the Launch column is marked as excluding Automations, Countdown Funnels, Conversion Boosters, Appointments, Calendars, the Custom Code Editor, and Webhooks and API access. The Affiliate Center is excluded from Launch and from Scale; it starts at Optimize, at $297 a month.

Read that list again.

Automations. Not included at $97.

You get funnels, email sends, one CRM pipeline and a website. What you do not get on the entry plan is the thing most people buy an all-in-one platform for: a workflow that fires when somebody does something.

One caveat, because I want you to find what I found. That same table lists a second row, API & Webhooks, with no exclusions on any plan, directly contradicting the Webhooks/API Access row above it. I read the exclusion row.

Go look at both.

For contrast, systeme.io includes one automation rule on the free plan and unrestricted automation on the paid tiers. That gap only shows up if you read the feature grids instead of the headline prices. More on that side of it in network marketing automation.

Where ClickFunnels Genuinely Wins

This is the section most comparisons written by systeme.io affiliates leave out.

Mine would be worthless without it.

Team seats, published in writing. ClickFunnels prints them: 2, 5, 10 and 20 by tier, plus 1, 5, 10 and 20 brand workspaces. systeme.io’s pricing page does carry a team group with an assistant_accounts row - it just renders four null: values where the numbers should be. A broken page is a worse answer than a low number. If more than one person needs to be in the account, ClickFunnels is the safer buy today.

Scale above 150,000 contacts. systeme.io says “unlimited” for $97. ClickFunnels sells 400,000 contacts on a plan costing $5,997 a year. One of those is a marketing word and the other is a written ceiling, and at genuine volume I would want the written one.

Email volume in writing. ClickFunnels tells you 50,000 sends a month on Launch. systeme.io says unlimited on every tier including the $17 one. Unlimited sending on a cheap plan means you share sending infrastructure with everybody else on that cheap plan, and deliverability is theirs, not yours. The Gmail sending limits post covers why that matters more than the allowance does.

Ecosystem. More templates, more agencies, more people who already know the product. That is worth real money at 11pm when something breaks, and it never appears in a pricing table.

Where systeme.io Wins

Price, obviously. Half the cost at the same contact count, and the ladder starts at zero.

A real free plan. Not a trial. 2,000 contacts, three funnels, one course, one blog, one affiliate program and one custom domain, no card, no expiry, per their pricing FAQ. ClickFunnels has no free tier at all. If you are searching for a free ClickFunnels alternative, this is the honest answer to that query, and it is why the phrase is searched at all.

Courses. Unlimited on the $47 plan against three on the $97 plan.

Automation on the cheap tiers. See above. That one surprised me.

If that combination is what you are after, the systeme.io free plan costs nothing to test and does not ask for a card.

Can You Get Your Money Back?

Neither answer is as clean as the marketing suggests, and the more expensive platform has the messier one.

systeme.io says no, plainly. Their terms and conditions, Article 3: Please note that our subscription plans are not refundable. No window, no exceptions listed. Blunt, and at least consistent - and largely moot, because you can run the free tier for as long as you like before paying anything.

ClickFunnels advertises a 30-day money-back guarantee. It is in the pricing page FAQ and repeated in a support article. It is not in the Terms of Service you agree to. The Terms, updated 18 January 2026, contain exactly one refund section - Section 6, “Refunds for Hard Goods” - covering tangible products like books. On subscriptions, Section 7 says you will not be entitled to prorate your last month's use, nor will you be entitled to any refund for any payments to ClickFunnels, and on annual plans, that you get a credit rather than a refund plus a possible cancellation fee.

A third ClickFunnels support doc closes the loop, saying refunds are subject to the Terms of Service applicable to the product or service you have purchased.

So the guarantee is real marketing, absent from the contract. Get it in writing from support before you buy.

One more cost surprise, this one on systeme.io.

Article 5 of their terms, read 15 August 2026, says that if you exceed your plan’s limits you get an email and three days to reduce usage, after which your subscription will be automatically upgraded to the appropriate plan and billed accordingly. Cross 5,000 contacts on the $17 tier and you have a long weekend before you are on the $47 one. ClickFunnels does the opposite: exceed a limit and it blocks you from creating more.

How Does Each Affiliate Program Pay?

Both pay. The difference is not the rate, it is the gate - and the ClickFunnels gate is narrower than their own support article admits.

Three of those rows deserve a sentence each.

The 40% rate. ClickFunnels’ affiliate agreement, last updated 15 September 2025, defines Qualified Affiliate status as available only for those affiliates of ClickFunnels who have been preselected by ClickFunnels, have actively promoted ClickFunnels 2.0, and opted in as a Qualified Affiliate prior to October 4, 2022. Their support article, updated 5 March 2026, still describes a Tier 3 paying 40% after you sell forty accounts a month. Those two documents cannot both be right, the agreement says it supersedes any other written or oral agreement, and the support article is branded ClickFunnels Classic throughout. Get an answer in writing before you build anything on 40%.

The forfeiture clause. If Your combined Commissions in a 120-day period do not exceed $100.00 (USD) Your Commissions will not be paid and will be forfeited by You to ClickFunnels. The agreement also terminates automatically if you earn zero commissions in twelve months. systeme.io’s $30 threshold carries a balance forward instead.

The tax deduction, which I had wrong until today. I have written before that systeme.io’s 60% is calculated after VAT, as though that were a systeme.io-specific catch. ClickFunnels does the same thing: All Commission payments are based on the amount of fees received by ClickFunnels, less sales taxes. The real difference is that systeme.io publishes the arithmetic and ClickFunnels publishes none. Article 162 shows both outcomes on a $17 plan - $8.43 when the buyer pays VAT as an individual, $10.20 when a business buyer pays 0%. Their marketing page prints only the $10.20. A ClickFunnels affiliate gets no worked example at all and cannot model the deduction in advance.

On income figures. systeme.io’s affiliate page runs its own arithmetic: If you refer 10 people to the Unlimited plan, that is $582/month in recurring income. Which is arithmetic, not a projection. It assumes ten referrals, every one of them on the most expensive plan, every one VAT-exempt, and not one of them ever canceling. Beside it sits no typical-earnings statement, no median and no count of affiliates earning nothing - none found on the affiliate page, the agreement or article 162, checked 15 August 2026. A number with no denominator. The FTC rules for affiliates and what online income actually looks like cover why that absence matters more than the rate does.

Why Is Every Comparison On This Topic One-Sided?

Because both companies wrote it into their affiliate contracts, and almost nobody who writes about this is outside one of them.

ClickFunnels’ affiliate agreement, Appendix A, Section 3:

Affiliate is not permitted to comment negatively about or disparage the products, affiliates, or services of ClickFunnels or any other person or entity, including without limitation the products or services of a ClickFunnels competitor.

A ClickFunnels affiliate is contractually barred from writing an honest negative word about systeme.io. Not about ClickFunnels - about the competitor.

systeme.io’s affiliate agreement, under Brand promotion:

you may not use any other competitor trademarks in your promotion of systeme.io

I am a systeme.io affiliate. This page uses a competitor trademark roughly two hundred times.

So on a plain reading, the page you are on runs against the agreement of the company that pays me. A comparison is not a promotion, and I would rather publish the honest version and argue about it than publish the ad. But that is my reading, not theirs, and clause 9 lets them change my rate whenever they like.

That is the actual answer to why the search results for ClickFunnels vs systeme.io are wall to wall one-sided. Not only the 60% commission. Honest comparison is discouraged in writing, on both sides, and the people best placed to write it are the people least free to.

Worth knowing before you trust any of us.

Which One Should You Start With?

Switching platforms is like re-plumbing a house that already works. A weekend of unglamorous labor, most of it behind a wall where nobody sees it, and you only do it because the old pipes are actually costing you something.

If your current setup is not costing you anything, leave it alone and go make an offer.

If you are starting from nothing, start on the free plan and find out what you actually need before you pay for it.

I Am Paid By One Side Of This Comparison

Sixty percent recurring, from systeme.io, on anybody who upgrades through a link on this page.

So start there and read everything below against it.

I use one of these and not the other. I run systeme.io. I have not run a ClickFunnels account in years. Everything in the ClickFunnels columns is read off their own pages rather than out of my back office, and you should weight it accordingly.

Pricing pages are not the product. Neither table captures speed, support quality, template quality or how either one behaves at 2am when a checkout page stops taking money. Those decide more than price does after month three.

“Unlimited” is doing work on both sides. systeme.io says unlimited contacts and unlimited sends, and Article 8 of its terms reserves the right to block access where your usage is generating costs to us that are not normal compared to other customers. A fair use policy in all but name. ClickFunnels says unlimited funnels and marks it “Limited Time” on every tier.

Both companies contradict themselves in public. systeme.io’s affiliate page promises payment with no holding period once a referral converts; its help center says a minimum 30-day hold, with a worked example running 56 days. ClickFunnels advertises a refund guarantee its contract does not contain. Read the legal page, not the sales page.

systeme.io’s affiliate agreement carries no date at all. No effective date, no version - while its pricing and affiliate pages both say “Last updated: April 2026.” An undated contract that reserves the right to change my commission is one I cannot tell you is current.

And that 60% is a heavy thumb on the scale. It explains why the search results for this comparison look the way they do, this page included.

The correct response is not to trust me harder.

Switch, Stay, Or Neither?

Neither, most likely, and that is the answer nobody writes a comparison post about.

You have not built the offer yet.

The number of people paying $97 a month to host an empty funnel would surprise you, and no amount of comparing two builders fixes it. Read funnels and landing pages first, then come back.

Start here, if you are one person or a very small team deciding where to put a business you are actually building, and the monthly cost is real money to you. That describes almost everybody who types systeme io vs ClickFunnels into a search box. Or system io vs ClickFunnels, which is how plenty of people spell it. Or systeme.io vs ClickFunnels 2026, when what they really want to know is whether anybody checked the prices this year.

Somebody did.

Both tables above carry the date.

Switch, if you already pay ClickFunnels and the price is genuinely hurting. Not before the offer works, and not for a feature you have not missed yet. Migration costs a weekend you will not get back.

Stay where you are if you need enterprise ceilings, SSO or a dedicated sending IP. ClickFunnels Dominate at $5,997 a year covers that, and this comparison stops being useful well before it.

And one group should read a different page entirely: anybody shopping for an affiliate program rather than a tool.

Different question. Both programs pay people who have an audience, and neither pays people who do not.

For everyone else the decision is smaller than the search volume suggests, because one of them lets you find out for nothing. Take the free plan first, build the thing, and upgrade when something actually stops you.
